Brand Story
Fashionable streetwear. Real mental health support. Genuine community.
The Beginning: A Personal Choice
After nearly 15 years of dedicated service in the British Army, the decision was made to leave military life early for one reason above all else: family.
With a son about to be born, the thought of missing his first moments, first steps, school run, and the everyday milestones of life was simply too much. Since then, five years have been spent raising him as a single parent while building a career as a Transport Manager and Planner.
It has not always been easy, but it has never been regretted. Family came first, and still does.
The Realisation: A Way to Give Back
Five years after leaving service, something still felt missing. Life after the military brought new meaning and a new purpose as a father, but there was still a sense that something bigger was needed.
The camaraderie, the purpose, the feeling of contributing to something that mattered to a wider community — all of that was still deeply important.
That is where Soldiers & Survivors was born: a brand rooted in military pride, built for everyone, and created to support mental health in a real and lasting way.
Our Business Model: Purpose Over Profit
Soldiers & Survivors is launching through a print-on-demand and Shopify-based model. This allows the brand to start lean, reduce unnecessary waste, and focus resources where they matter most: growth, community, and impact.
The domain, custom email addresses, and social handles are already secured. The logo itself was personally designed and carries deep meaning:
- The military helmet represents service and pride.
- The visible brain places mental health at the centre of the mission.
- The green awareness ribbon stands for support and advocacy.
- The protective gas mask reflects survival, resilience, and self-protection.
The Promise: One Charity Per Year
20% of annual net profits will be donated to one selected UK mental health charity every year. This is not a marketing angle. It is not a tax strategy. It is a core promise.
For Year 1, the chosen charity is Combat Stress, the UK’s largest mental health charity supporting military personnel. The goal is to provide real, measurable funding to the work they do and, ideally, to continue that support well beyond the first year.
From Year 2 onward, a new UK mental health charity will be selected each year — military or civilian, large or small. Each chosen charity will provide transparency on where the donated funds go and the lives they help to change, so that the community can see the real-world impact being created.
Strategic Partnerships: Building the Ecosystem
Conversations are already underway with platforms and service providers across AI, marketing, and business support. The goal is to build an ecosystem of partners who genuinely believe in the mission.
This is a low-capital, high-purpose model designed to scale quickly and strategically. The more the brand grows, the more can be donated. Everyone wins when purpose leads.
The Bigger Vision: Soldiers & Survivors Clubs
The long-term vision goes far beyond clothing. Once strong UK sales and proven market presence are established, the aim is to open a network of Soldiers & Survivors clubs: physical spaces designed for community, wellbeing, and support.
- Social facilities including pool tables, dart boards, and air hockey
- A full gym
- A dedicated wellbeing and mental health suite
- Conference rooms for support groups and general bookings
- A bar and communal social spaces
Just like the clothing brand, 20% of annual net profits from these clubs would also go directly to mental health charities.
Building Community Through Authenticity
AI is being used strategically — from email and calendar management to marketing, video creation, and future website or app support. But technology alone is not the foundation of this brand.
The real foundation is community. Key moments such as World Mental Health Day, World Suicide Prevention Day, and Remembrance Day will be used to drive engagement, awareness, and meaningful conversation.
“Together, We Got This!”
The Competitive Edge
There are other military-themed clothing brands, but very few place genuine mental health support at the absolute heart of the business model.
Soldiers & Survivors is not just about selling clothing. It is about building a movement, a community, and a source of hope. The annual charity partnership model creates a unique advantage by encouraging charities, supporters, and customers to grow alongside the brand.
Every purchase becomes part of something bigger. Every customer helps create real impact.
Why This Matters
This brand exists because of one life-changing decision: leaving a military career that was deeply loved in order to be present for a son.
Now the goal is to build something else that lasts — a business grounded in values, purpose, and meaningful change. Something that proves success and compassion can exist side by side. Something that puts people before profit.
Whether the next generation carries this business forward or chooses their own path, the legacy remains the same: to build something that genuinely helps people.
Stand With the Mission
Soldiers & Survivors exists to bring together streetwear, purpose, and mental health support in one authentic community-led brand.
